Aim: How was warfare central to life in the Middle Ages?

Bell Ringer: Read “Biography: Eleanor of Aquitaine” and answer Journal 20 – How did Eleanor expand the usual role of medieval women?

Objectives:

1.       Students will describe the orders of medieval social hierarchy, the changing role of the Church, the emergence of feudalism, and the development of private property as a distinguishing feature of Western Civilization.

2.       Students will describe achievements of significant rulers.
