Aim: What achievements did Muslims make in economics, art, literature, and science? 
Bell Ringer: Read pages 133 – 134 "Muslim Art, Literature, and Architecture" 
Objectives: 
  1. Students will describe the achievements, contributions, and key figures associated with the Islamic Golden Age.  
  1. Students will analyze the effects of transportation, trade, communication, science, and technology on the preservation and diffusion of culture.

  1. Journal 13 – What elements characterized Muslim art? (10 min)  
  1. Review Journal 12 (5 min)  
  1. Continue to complete "Muslim Achievements" chart with new information. (5 min)  
  1. Video: "The Best Movie About Islamic Civilization in Europe" (11 min)  
  1. Exit Ticket: What did the students learn about Muslim in the "Dark Ages"? 

Home Learning: Read page 135 "Muslim Advances in Astronomy" and answer the questions at the bottom in Journal 14.
